  • a dream, or should I call it a nightmare?

I don't normally pay any attention to my dreams, I even tend to forget them once I wake up. For me, there were too much dreams to remember as there had not been a night in my life in which I did not dream but slept soundly. My subconscious mind seems to be working all night. Sometimes, I had repeated dreams. Some dreams of mine had foretold the future – I dreamt about my dad getting promoted in January 2007 and by April 2007 he was nominated as the head of the department. Apart from the dreams as such, I didn't take any of them serious.

But I had a weird dream last night.

I was on a motorbike. My mom was behind me. (It's weird because my mother hardly agrees to let me drive or ride in the same car I drive. She has such confidence in me, or my driving). In my dream, she was happily riding the motorbike I was driving. We were about to cross a river – a river which was flowing tremendously. At the another bank of the river, I saw  cars came up from underwater one after another. They were crossing the river not via bridge by from the bottom of the river! The cars seem to be waterproof or something. But of course I could not do that as the vehicle I was driving was a motorbike, not a car. I was afraid of getting drowned in the river. I decided to use the bridge instead. That bridge was merely a bridge with water overflowing the scanty wooden floor of the bridge. I was afraid as I was driving along the bridge. You know the gap between some of the timber bars is as big is the my motorbike's tire. I don't know how I made it there. But I made it to the other side of the river.

I wondered what my dream means.

I searched the meanings of river and bridge in dreams dictionary from www.dreammoods.com and found this!

    Bridge

To dream that you are crossing a bridge, signifies an important decision or a critical junction in your life. This decision will prove to be a positive change filled with prosperity and wealth in the horizon. Bridges represent a transitional period in your life where you will be moving on to a new stage. If the bridge is over water, then it suggests that your transition will be an emotional one. If you fall off the bridge and into the water, then the dream indicates that you are letting your emotions hold you back and prevent you from moving forward.  Alternatively, the bridge may indicate that you are trying to "bridge" or connect two things together.  To dream of a run-down bridge, indicates that you should not contemplate any major changes in your life at this time. To see a bridge collapse in your dream, implies that you have let an important opportunity pass you by.

    River

To see a raging river in your dream, signifies that your life is feeling out of control. You are feeling emotionally unsettled. Alternatively, a river means you are ready to confront life's challenges and life's twists and turns.
