I've got a good Job with a decent salary (which is not underpaid anymore).
I can get up at 8:30 to reach work at 9:30 because home and work is quite close-by now.
Working hours are NOT more than 8 hours a day. and I get weekends off.
Salary is much more than what my seniors from previous work place get.
It's not a very hot shit job. But I think it's fine with me and I'm happy.
My previous industrial attachment was with a hotel where I got only one day off in one week. This one day can be any particular day that duty roster manager prefer, which means although you get 'one' day off in a week, that doesn't mean you work 6 days and get one day. Sometimes, I have to work 7 days straight if my off-days fell apart in each week. . Or maybe, 9 days apart? And all those 9 days is with 'shifts' which means either i work 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm or 11pm-7am. I had to wake up at 5am to report to work at 6:45. I had reached home at 12:30 midnight or even 1 am.
Worst, I had even worked back-to-back shifts,i.e, i reached home at 1 am and I was supposed to wake up at 5am to report to work at 6:45am (which I was always late, by the way)
Early mornings and late nights are over. They were just nightmares and now I've got a regular routine.
I go to woke up at 8:30 am leave home at 9:00am and come back home at 6:00 pm.
And I can sleep 8 complete hours a day or sometimes 9 hours or even 10.
I no longer need to switch my cell of when I am sleeping or when I'm on 'off' days, because I don't need to worry that my phone will ring at 5 am or 7 am =D no .. nothing.
Now when it is 'off' , it's really 'off'. Not like earlier days when I received calls after I go home or at 7 am my day 'off' to 'relieve' somebody who's absent.
Talking about break time, I can go at anytime and take my own time. It's more like flexi hours.
But I prefer grabbing some junk food and come back to office immediately. It is more convenient.

Lucky you for being able to get up at 8:30 for the work at 9. Seriously! My work starts at 8:30 but our boss unofficially made a rule to arrive at work about 10 mins earlier than the actual starting hour. I guess it started from punishing people who were always late for work. So my point is that I had to get up before 7 to get ready at 7:30 which is when I normally leave for work. 7AM!!! That's the time very cozy to sleep in especially on the rainy days. Well, what can I say? This is life. Not to mention that we have 8 hours and a half of working hours per day.
Anyway, sounds like your two jobs are different as day and night.
I think you forgot to mention the tiny little detail about "being able to be online the whole day now." :P
@kyalzinlay - Actually i can be online whole day for some weeks because most of my boss are overseas. They usually come here at the end of the month. That is where I seem to get busy. But still (not that busy)
Yeah I left a lot of things to mention, like getting allowance for phone bill also
